The lotion use is not a paint or even a stain. The active ingredient is DHA (Dihydroxy Acetone) which reacts with the amino acids in the uppermost layer of the skin and causes them to turn brown. The DHA reaction takes five hours for the tanning effect to be fully completed   What should I do before receiving a tanning treatment? You should exfoliate and moisturise your body prior to receiving the tanning treatment. Full body exfoliation & body conditioning included in your tanning treatment is also available. If the skin is smooth and well moisturised, the tan will last longer.   How long does it take for a tan? It takes about 20-25 mins including spraying and drying.   When do you need another tan? You need to repeat the entire process on the second day. First application lays the foundation and real tanning will be apparent the next morning. The second application develops the tan and makes it look two to three times darker.   How long does it last for? Your tan will last for up to 10-12 days. Top-up tans can be applied after five to six days to bring back the colour and a single application should be sufficient if the base colour remains from the first treatment   Do I need to shave or wax before tanning? It is not necessary to shave or wax prior to tanning. However if you do decide to wax or shave it is preferable to do this 2 days before tanning and remember to moisturise afterwards.   What should I wear? You should wear loose fitting clothing. Tight clothing will be inclined to rub the tan after application and this may slightly blemish the result. For an all-over tan you may wish to wear you bikinis or paper underwear are provided by the salon. Permanent staining of undergarments rarely occurs. Any residual colour is easily washed out.   What do I need to do after the tan? You are not to bath for five hours, or swim or take vigorous exercise Need to moisturise body fully each day and apply sunscreen if going out into the sun   Who can t have this treatment? Suitable for everyone, except: * Women in the first three months of pregnancy. No harmful effects but best practice suggests that it is better to be prudent * People with broken, bruised or inflamed skins, i.e. psoriasis, eczema, cuts & abrasions.
